Masquerade
By Jayce Kraviec [blackdragonflower]
---

Crack a grin.
Fake a smile.
Paper ribbons.
Satin roads that stretch a mile.

Masquerades and masks galore,
makeup hides the fake.

Flowing dressing made of velvet and lace.
Masks that hide every face.
Crimson banners,
Flowing tags blur the world around us.

Masquerades and masks galore,
makeup hides the fake.

Eyeshadowed eyes,
Painted lips.
Cheeks brushed scarlet with rouge,
All to hide for a time,
in the reds, yellows, and blues.

Masquerades and masks galore,
makeup hides the fake.
Pre 2007.

I really love this poem. I like the idea of masquerades letting you be able to hide.
